I use the playlists to do multiple takes of each part, and then have to arm the other set of tracks to do the next part. Right now im using playlists and doubled tracks. Sorry for the long post but i was also interested in how people are setting up a session to do a "comp" drum recording. I have been using 6ms pad time and 3 ms crossfade, sounds good but just wanted other peoples opinions. ![]() Should they be the same? Should the pad time be half the crossfade time? Isnt 5ms crossfade kind of long for drum edits. So lets say you have a trigger pad time of 10ms and you use command 0 to quantize the regions wont the transient be 10ms or so late? What is the main difference between quantizing and conforming? Also what are ideal pad and crossfade times. Why not use beat detective conform? Im trying to understand this, but isnt trigger pad time the amount of time before the transient that it cuts. I see a lot of people are choosing to quantize instead of using BD conform.
